"The Young Dancer" was a member of Joan Van Dyke's, Mahoning Valley Ballet Company. The company had classes at their studio down the hallway from my art studio. I often saw this young dancer and the other dancers waiting in the hall, getting ready for class to begin and looking like they belonged in a Degas painting.
