This is just one of a series of similar pastels based on a lovely California Poppy from my garden.
I experimented with different papers, different pastels, including some Sennelier iridescent pastels and using different approaches to the composition. Some in the series were miniatures measuring only 2 X 3 inches., others 4 X 6 inches, the larger ones were 8 X 10. This was one of the larger pastels in the series.
