I enjoy working on pieces that have a limited color palette. I also love the designs of William Morris. ‘The Strawberry Thief” is an all time favorite of mine, but the intricacy of the design is daunting. Drawing the objects and the background was a real challenge.
I feel that the challenge of drawing/painting from real things forces me to work harder and learn more.
This painting won a Richeson Merchandise Award in the 2022 Degas Pastel Exhibtion , an 80 piece pastel set , The Alan Flattmann assortment.
